Spoiler Alert
A raging snowstorm forces Wei Zhi and Shan Chong to take shelter in a small cabin. The cold is intense, but thankfully, Shan Chong manages to get a fire going. Huddled together by the warmth, they share a heart-to-heart conversation. Shan Chong reveals a deep-seated guilt stemming from an accident years ago. He had taught his younger sister, Shan Shan, to ski, and she showed incredible talent and passion for the sport. Shan Chong believed she was destined for the national team, but tragedy struck during a training session. Shan Shan suffered a severe leg injury, resulting in fractures and, ultimately, amputation.
Shan Chong blames himself, believing that if he hadn't introduced her to skiing, she might still be walking. His sole focus now is to earn enough money for her prosthetic limbs. Wei Zhi, seeing his pain, comforts him, reminding him that hindsight is 20/20 and that Shan Shan genuinely loved skiing. Shan Chong also admits that his sister became fond of comics after the amputation, and Wei Zhi's works brought her a lot of joy.
The shared vulnerability deepens their connection. With only one sleeping bag, Wei Zhi innocently invites Shan Chong to share it with her. Despite the close proximity, they simply fall asleep, exhausted from the day's avalanche ordeal. The next morning, they head back, and reach the wishing tree.
Shan Chong takes Wei Zhi to a massive tree – actually two trees grown together – and explains that wishes made under it are said to come true. He then confesses his feelings for Wei Zhi. She, having been secretly admiring him since seeing his impressive skiing video, readily accepts his confession.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yiming had spent a sleepless night worrying about Wei Zhi. At daybreak, he sets out to find them, only to see them returning, hand-in-hand. The avalanche, it seems, has solidified their relationship.
Wei Zhi and Shan Chong's romance is now public, and they're basking in their newfound happiness. Jiang Yiming, however, is heartbroken. He had hoped to grow closer to Wei Zhi during the trip, but now his hopes are dashed. After several nights of quiet despair, he has a heart-to-heart with Shan Chong. Jiang Yiming, seeing Wei Zhi's happiness, vows to support her completely, treating her like a younger sister from now on.
