In Episode 4 of "Ski Into Love," Wei Zhi's newfound discovery of Shan Chong's true identity as a skiing ace fuels her passion for the sport even further. She repeatedly suggests that Shan Chong become the model for her manga's male lead, but he consistently turns her down, preferring to operate on his own terms rather than bask in any hero spotlight.
Wei Zhi's excitement peaks when she encounters the skiing "prince" she'd seen on a poster, making her even more enthusiastic about her training. Shan Chong advises her to invest in proper gear, including a ski suit, boots, and goggles. Previously hesitant to splurge, Wei Zhi now decides to go all out, embarking on a shopping trip with her best friend and Shan Chong.
At the ski equipment store, Wei Zhi is overwhelmed by the unfamiliar items. A humorous misunderstanding arises when Shan Chong asks the shopkeeper for protective pads. The shopkeeper presents two silicone pads, which Wei Zhi, blushing, initially mistakes for breast enhancers. The situation escalates when Shan Chong requests the largest size after a quick glance at her. Wei Zhi is mortified until Shan Chong clarifies that they are simply knee pads.
During the shopping trip, Shan Chong encounters another student of his, Hua Yan. Hua Yan, seemingly from a privileged background, speaks to Shan Chong disrespectfully. She gives Wei Zhi a knowing look, asking if Wei Zhi is Shan Chong's newest junior disciple. Shan Chong, wanting a pair of skates he deems suitable for Wei Zhi's current training level, takes them from beside Hua Yan and gives them to Wei Zhi. To appease Hua Yan, he immediately offers to teach her an additional training session, leaving Wei Zhi fuming. She feels slighted that Shan Chong would arrange training sessions with other students without consulting her.
Upset, Wei Zhi confronts Shan Chong, criticizing his perceived incompetence and declaring that she'll practice at a different ski resort. That evening, she channels her frustration into her manga, drawing two sulking characters, a stark contrast to her joy just days before when she learned of Shan Chong's skiing prowess.
The next day, Wei Zhi oversleeps due to a late-night drawing session. She calls her friend, who declines to join her for training, citing a back injury from an "intense" night. Wei Zhi, dressed in her ski gear, heads out alone.
Supposedly, Shan Chong is teaching Hua Yan today. Wei Zhi, still angry, follows the training videos Shan Chong previously sent her, but she ventures onto an advanced slope. Shan Chong had warned her against using this slope, especially with her current skill level, but Wei Zhi, fueled by anger, ignores his advice. In the process, she drops her phone and ends up falling on her way back.
