She questions whether Zhao Chuxi's (Zhao Chuxi) devotion to Qin Ran (Qin Ran) is truly worth it. Xiluo sends a message to Chuxi, arranging a meeting.
They meet at Fusheng Barbecue, where Chuxi immediately addresses Xiluo formally as "Mr. Su." Xiluo, taken aback, offers Chuxi a card loaded with 400,000 yuan to help with his financial situation. However, Chuxi refuses, stating he's already secured the necessary funds. Xiluo, unable to contain her emotions, confronts Chuxi about his feelings for Qin Ran, even bringing up Qin Ran's depression. Chuxi, though unaware of Qin Ran's condition, firmly states that he only does what he believes is right. Xiluo warns him that he'll regret his choices someday and leaves. Disturbed by the encounter, Chuxi meets Xu Lin (Xu Lin) at a bar, where he learns about Xiluo's recent dealings with Xu Shaoqing, further unsettling him.
Meanwhile, Boss Zhou takes Chuxi to meet Uncle Liu. Uncle Liu, impressed by Chuxi and Er Pang's (Er Pang) bravery in saving Sister Jiang, challenges Chuxi to a test of skill against his men. Chuxi repays the money he borrowed from his former colleagues and redeems his grandmother's bracelet. He then rallies the workers to join him in his new venture. Later, Cheng Zixin is surprised to find Chuxi as the new boss, "Mr. Zhao," when she visits the bar, and they celebrate together. Qiao Kang (Qiao Kang) also appears, attempting to provoke Chuxi, boasting about his connection to the security captain, only to be unceremoniously removed by his supposed "friend." Chuxi and Er Pang then visit Chuxi's grandmother, who gives Chuxi the bracelet, urging him to stay true to himself and resist temptation.
Tragedy strikes Qin Ran's family as her father undergoes surgery but doesn't survive. Qin Ran is devastated. In her most vulnerable moment, her brother lashes out, blaming her for their father's death, accusing her of using "dirty money" earned from questionable activities. Heartbroken, Qin Ran goes to the riverside, puts on a small flower hairpin, and takes her own life.
When Chuxi and the others arrive, they find only the hairpin. Enraged, Chuxi confronts Qin Ying, Qin Ran's brother, demanding to know if he understood the sacrifices his sister made for their family, including battling depression. Chuxi nearly loses control, but his friends restrain him.
