Lin Sanwu, accompanied by Xu Lin, transports his grandmother's ashes back to Beicheng. At the train station, Sanwu receives VIP treatment, complete with a private waiting room. After arriving, Xu Lin offers to take Sanwu home, but Sanwu declines. Outside the station, Xu Lin is stunned to witness a fleet of luxury cars and formally dressed men awaiting Sanwu. They bow in respect as Sanwu carries his grandmother's ashes, revealing a hidden depth to Sanwu's background. Xu Lin considers informing Zhao Chuxi, but decides against it, reasoning that Sanwu would have revealed it himself if he wanted to.
Back home, Zhao Chuxi feels a sense of emptiness after Sanwu's departure. He makes dumplings and messages Qingyi, expressing a feeling of being able to do everything, yet being powerless at the same time. Qingyi encourages him, reminding him that life requires perseverance through hardship. Meanwhile, Xiluo is, once again, forced to drink heavily during a business engagement. Lu Yao cares for her, expressing concern about the excessive drinking, but Xiluo explains that drinking gives her a sliver of hope, whereas not drinking offers none. Lu Yao comments that at least Zhao Chuxi was useful in helping Xiluo avoid some drinks.
Xiluo inquires about Zhao Chuxi, and Lu Yao informs her that he has been busy with Sanwu's family matters due to his grandmother's passing. Xiluo suggests they should pay their respects. Lu Yao explains that the funeral is over, and Sanwu has returned to Beicheng with his grandmother's ashes. She has, however, sent a message and flowers to Sanwu. Xiluo wonders when such significant events started happening without her knowledge. In the following days, Sanwu remains in Beicheng, diligently continuing his training. Zhao Chuxi and Han Sanqiang keep busy at the bar. Three months later, Lin Sanwu makes a decisive move to return and take over as the head of the Lin Corporation.
The episode takes a dramatic turn during a hot pot dinner between Xu Shaoqing and Xiluo. Xu Shaoqing excitedly announces their engagement ceremony, boasting about the flown-in flowers from Finland and the Bordeaux wine, Xiluo's favorite. However, Xiluo remains indifferent. Suddenly, Cheng Zixin bursts in with a large sign, dragging Zhao Chuxi along. Cheng Zixin loudly proclaims her congratulations, but the atmosphere turns tense as Xu Shaoqing realizes she's there to disrupt the event. Cheng Zixin bluntly states that Xiluo doesn't love Xu Shaoqing and asks Xiluo if she has feelings for Zhao Chuxi.
Xiluo states that love and marriage are two different things. Cheng Zixin retorts that Xiluo is only interested in Xu Shaoqing's connections and influence for her family's business, and that she truly loves Zhao Chuxi. Enraged, Xu Shaoqing slaps Cheng Zixin twice and storms off with Xiluo. In the car, Xiluo smiles thinking of Zhao Chuxi, prompting a menacing threat from Xu Shaoqing not to think about other men.
As Xiluo is about to get out of the car at her apartment complex, Xu Shaoqing insists on coming up. The security guard, Zhang Maodun, sees this and quickly calls Zhao Chuxi. Inside the apartment, Xu Shaoqing continues to harass Xiluo, who firmly states she won't marry him. In a fit of rage, Xu Shaoqing attempts to rape Xiluo, but Zhao Chuxi arrives just in time, kicking Xu Shaoqing away and delivering a severe beating. Hearing police sirens, Xiluo realizes Zhao Chuxi called the police. She worriedly tells Zhao Chuxi that he shouldn't have called the police, because Zhang Shengbai will definitely retaliate.
