Spoiler Alert
Things get messy at the construction site this week when snake-in-a-suit Xu Shaoqing (the boss you love to hate) shows up to gaslight the crew. Guo Jianshe and Zhang Kaishan immediately clock his shady vibes and demand answers about Zhao Chuxi’s sudden disappearance. But ol’ Xu plays dumb, claiming Zhao stole company secrets and millions in funds while betraying their buddy Han Sanqiang. The crew ain’t buying this soap-opera-tier lie—they call him out for framing Zhao out of jealousy over his crush, Su Xiluo. Cue the workplace rebellion: the team threatens to quit en masse. Xu, ever the manipulator, puts on his "trust me, bro" face to calm Xiluo, insisting he’ll "fix" everything.
Money Can’t Buy Brotherhood
Xu tries bribing Guo Jianshe with cold hard cash (20k yuan!) to keep the crew loyal. But Guo—a man with principles—shuts him down hard: "You think brotherhood has a price tag?!" When Xu smugly offers to raise the amount, Guo rage-quits the convo, vowing to take every last worker with him. Xu’s left alone in his office, dramatically sweeping everything off his desk Godfather-style. Someone’s big mad.
Zhao Chuxi’s New Chapter (With a Side of Noodles)
Meanwhile, our exiled hero Zhao Chuxi’s drowning his loneliness in a Sanjiang noodle shop when bar owner Chen Pingyong throws him a lifeline. Chen offers Zhao a job and a place to crash, proving not all heroes wear capes—some own dive bars. Zhao’s soon showing off hidden talents at the bar:
-
Drinking Champion Alert
Bar singer Qiqi—a beauty who’s never lost a drinking contest—challenges Zhao to a booze-off. Spoiler: she picks the wrong dude. Zhao downs her like a frat bro at happy hour, instantly becoming bar legend.
-
Train Girl Crush?
Regular customer Qi Si (a train attendant Zhao met earlier) starts bonding with our boy. She senses he’s hiding trauma, but Zhao keeps those walls up. For now.
Su Xiluo’s Betrayal Bombshell
Back at the mansion, Su Xiluo confronts her live-in nanny Nanny Wu about leaking intel to Xu Shaoqing. Turns out Wu’s been playing informant for three years, convinced Xu’s a "better match" for Xiluo than Zhao. Xiluo fires her on the spot (but still pays severance—boss move).
Bar Brawl to Slow-Burn Romance ❤️
The episode’s MVP? Qi Si. When drunk creeps harass her at the bar, Zhao swoops in, tosses the losers out, and earns a standing ovation. Grateful Qi Si treats him to late-night street food, followed by a moonlit walk… which gets spotted by Furong, who immediately rats them out to mysterious figure Jian Ying. Dun dun DUN.
