Spoiler Alert

This episode dives deeper into the financial struggles and simmering tensions at the construction site, while also highlighting Zhao Chuxi's loyalty and resourcefulness.

Mr. Su, the boss, is aware of the conflict between Zhao Chuxi and Qiang, but she's choosing to stay out of it, privately admiring Chuxi's fiery spirit. Meanwhile, Qiang and Er Pang accompany Chuxi as he wires money to his sister, Qingyi. Chuxi only keeps 200 yuan for himself, a gesture that surprises Qiang. Chuxi explains that a man needs to take care of himself, then calls Qingyi, expressing his longing for her and concern for the children back home. Qiang teases him about it, but Chuxi emphasizes that Qingyi is more than a sister to him – she's family.

The approaching New Year holiday brings a crisis. Mr. Su is unable to pay the workers due to the company's financial problems. She reluctantly calls Xu Shaoqing, who surprisingly agrees to help. However, the workers are at their breaking point, demanding answers from Qiang. Chuxi rushes to the scene, where chaos has erupted. He and Er Pang manage to restore some order, but the workers are furious after three months without pay. Chuxi reveals that Qiang hasn't been paid either and has been personally covering the site's food and expenses. The workers remain agitated, and Chuxi vows to get them their due.

Chuxi intercepts Mr. Su's car, demanding answers. He tells her the situation at the site is about to explode and he needs the truth. Mr. Su admits she can't pay them today but promises to have the money in three days. Chuxi insists she come back to the site and explain it to the workers herself. She agrees, but the workers are out of control, throwing beer bottles. Chuxi protects her, eventually calming the situation.

Mr. Su takes Chuxi to get his hand treated. Er Pang insists on tagging along, claiming it's because Lu Yao, who is with Mr. Su, is pretty. Chuxi gives in, and they all go together. Chuxi is reluctant to get treatment because of the cost, while Er Pang dramatically exaggerates a minor injury to get Lu Yao's attention. After they're both treated, Lu Yao mentions that Mr. Su hasn't eaten all day. Chuxi and Er Pang, sharing a look, decide to take the two women to their favorite barbecue place, Fusheng.

During the meal, Chuxi doesn't miss the opportunity to ask Mr. Su for compensation for his injury. Mr. Su, showing her generosity, offers 200 yuan each to Chuxi and Er Pang. She also asks Chuxi to start working directly for her, with a raise. Chuxi is thrilled! Since Chuxi doesn't have a phone, they agree to meet at the construction site the next day. As Mr. Su and Lu Yao leave, Chuxi and Er Pang are clearly smitten, nearly fighting over which woman is more beautiful.

The next day, Chuxi accompanies Lu Yao to the company. He's completely out of his element, fascinated by everything and just playing around at his desk. Mr. Su notices his unfashionable clothes and decides to buy him a new wardrobe and asks Lu Yao to get him a cell phone, Chuxi only knows that he doesn't have any money!
