The Glory: Episode 16

Spoiler Alert

Consort Miao’s Gift (and Grudges)

After nearly getting trampled by a horse, Consort Miao is shook—and weirdly grateful to Hanyan, the woman she once scorned. Turns out, Hanyan returned kindness for cruelty by saving her life. Meanwhile, investigative genius Fu Yunxi drops a bomb: that horse was drugged via a herbal-laced handkerchief. Suspicion falls on the household staff, but when Miao offers to "handle" the culprit, Ruan Xiwen (Hanyan’s mom) politely declines the help. Drama!

Then, in a plot twist no one saw coming, Miao forces Hanyan to kneel… only to slap a jade bracelet on her wrist. Turns out, this bling was originally meant for Ruan Xiwen decades ago after a rigged horseback race (flashback alert!). Miao’s vibe? "Keep the bracelet, but also—I’ll never forget you let me win and doomed me to palace hell."

The Tea Confrontation

Over tea, Miao and Ruan Xiwen hash out ancient beef. Miao’s still salty about that race, blaming Ruan for her infertility and palace trauma. Ruan claps back: "Girl, you wanted to win. I just let you have your spotlight." The tension? Thicker than matcha.

But wait—Dr. Tan arrives, examines Ruan’s legs, and exposes a decades-long lie: She’s been faking paralysis! Turns out, her trash husband hired quacks to keep her wheelchair-bound. Miao, half-pissed, half-heartbroken, demands Ruan walk by next year: "I’ll wait for your kneeling apology." Cue tears.

Love, Lies, and Lame Plotting

Hanyan confronts her stepsister Zhuang Yushan: "I know you sabotaged the horse, but hey—I’ve got blackmail material now." Zhuang? Unbothered. Classic villain shrug.

Meanwhile, Ruan gets a late-night visit from ex-flame Yuwen Chang’an, who whips out old betrothal documents (soap opera gasp). He’s like, "Let’s run away," but Ruan’s not ready. Hanyan watches from afar, crying happy-sad tears for her mom’s lost love.

Fu Yunxi’s Big Move

Fu and Hanyan bond over rooftop fireworks. He mumbles something about giving her "everything she wants," but boom—fireworks drown him out. When she asks him to repeat, he ghosts. Classic.

Later, Fu hilariously sabotages Hanyan’s suitors. One creep claims she gave him a love handkerchief? Fu beats him up, then returns the (fake) evidence. Hanyan’s like, "Not mine, but thanks?" Cue Fu passive-aggressively trashing all her marriage proposals until she roasts him: "These guys have actual qualities." His reply? "Marry them all as your harem, then."

The Legs That Could Walk Again

Ruan starts physical therapy with Dr. Tan. It’s painful, but she’s determined. Hanyan begs her to leave their toxic household, but Ruan refuses: "I won’t abandon you to this snake pit."

Final Fiasco: Marriage Wars

When Dad Zhuang tries to wed Hanyan off to random rich dude He Wenshen, Fu crashes the party with a 20-year-old engagement contract (mic drop). He shreds Zhuang’s new deal, but He’s still simping: "Pick me!" Hanyan shuts him down, while Fu smirks in the corner like the smug king he is.

Later, Hanyan corners Fu: "Why help me?" His answer? "I’ll make you the ultimate ‘It Girl’—if you marry me." She’s intrigued… but asks the real question: "Why me?"

Next Episode Tease: Will Ruan walk? Will Fu’s proposal backfire? And will Consort Miao ever stop side-eyeing everyone? Stay tuned!

P.S. Someone get Fu Yunxi a megaphone. Those fireworks aren’t gonna quit.
