With Love with You: Episode 2

Spoiler Alert

If Episode 1 was a slow simmer, Episode 2 is where things start to boil over — literally and emotionally. Drama, family tension, romantic awkwardness, and a suitcase with a vendetta — here’s everything that went down in Episode 2 of With Love with You.

Wang Lingjun Is Done Being the Stay-at-Home Daughter

Wang Lingjun is officially over being treated like a freeloading couch potato. When she casually mentions wanting to go to Shenzhen, her mom jumps to conclusions — assuming she’s chasing after Wang Yan again. That jab hits a nerve. Lingjun, clearly fed up, smashes a dish mid-washing, cuts her hand, and storms off to her room. The message is loud and clear: she’s not here to be judged.

Later that night, she packs her bags, snatches back all her massage towels (yes, all of them — priorities), and leaves a note for her parents saying she’s off to Shenzhen but won’t bother Wang Yan. Then she’s gone — determined to make something of herself. Unfortunately, her grand exit is undercut by her cheap suitcase losing a wheel. So much for a flawless departure.

Meanwhile, Wang Yan Is in Her Own Kind of Trouble

Over in Shenzhen, Wang Yan is fighting for her career. She manages to land a crucial final pitch meeting, which rubs a jealous coworker the wrong way. So wrong, in fact, that he tries to physically block her from getting into a car, slamming the door on her hand in the process. Yikes.

Wang Yan keeps her injury hidden, instead heading straight to the hospital where she patches herself up and texts her boss — mission accomplished. Her boyfriend, Dr. Liao Fanmu, shows up post-shift with a whole chicken (the universal love language in Chinese dramas) to make soup for her. Sweet, right?

Until the talk turns to marriage.

Love Soup and Awkward Proposals

Liao Fanmu wants to take the relationship to the next level. But the moment he mentions marriage, Wang Yan pretends not to hear him. Classic. He brings it up again — she says she’s “too busy.” She uses the word “handle” to describe their relationship, which makes him feel like he’s the issue she needs to “process.” Oof.

He tries to keep the mood light and shifts the convo to chicken soup. He also orders fresh fruit for her, but she still won’t let him stay the night. You can tell he’s hurt, even if he doesn’t say it out loud.

Sister Ships in the Night

The next morning, Wang Yan — still nursing her injured hand — takes the subway instead of driving. Unbeknownst to her, Wang Lingjun is literally standing right behind her. But of course, neither of them realizes it. Classic drama move.

Lingjun has officially landed in Shenzhen and crashes with her bestie, Cao Kunkun. Kunkun’s married now and living large — her husband’s family owns an entire building. The reunion is cute... until Kunkun sees that Lingjun brought a whole box of hometown goodies for Liao Fanmu. Kunkun snaps, accuses Lingjun of being a love-struck fool, and kicks her out.

Uninvited Visitors and a Cake Drop

Lingjun, now homeless, tricks Wang Yan into giving her address by claiming their parents sent her a package. She gets into the apartment using the door code and runs smack into — you guessed it — Liao Fanmu. He’s prepping dinner for Wang Yan, and she just kinda... stays for it.

Before leaving, Fanmu asks Lingjun to talk things out with her sister. But once he’s gone, Lingjun bounces too — leaving behind a cake, like a peace offering with frosting.

She then bombards Cao Kunkun with apology messages until she finally gets unblocked. Kunkun forgives her and lets her move back in.

Sister Showdown

Wang Yan calls Fanmu later and finds out — surprise! — Lingjun is in Shenzhen and never told her. Their parents are panicking after finding her note, and Wang Yan is not amused. She tells Fanmu to lure Lingjun out with a phone call. It works — but when Lingjun realizes she’s been tricked, she’s furious.

Cue the sister showdown.

The two start arguing on the street, voices raised, emotions raw. It escalates so fast that Lingjun instinctively swings at Wang Yan. Wang Yan dodges the slap, but the betrayal is written all over her face. The episode ends with a silent moment of shock — and a sibling relationship hanging by a thread.

Final Thoughts

Episode 2 is a rollercoaster of sibling tension, romantic misfires, and one really unlucky suitcase. Wang Lingjun is fiery, impulsive, and brave — but clearly haunted by unresolved issues with her sister. Wang Yan, on the other hand, is stoic and closed-off, juggling a stressful job and a boyfriend she keeps emotionally at arm’s length.

One thing’s for sure — with both sisters now in the same city, things are only going to get messier.
