Spoiler Alert
Episode 23 of With Love with You kicks off with Wang Yan returning from a business trip and immediately inviting Wang Lingjun out for hotpot. But this isn’t just a casual catch-up — she drops a surprise: she wants Lingjun to tag along as her temporary assistant on a work trip to Hong Kong. The job? Running errands and grabbing meals. The reward? A full month of free rent and utilities. Lingjun’s thrilled — so thrilled she barely touches her hotpot before rushing off to pack.
The next thing we know, Wang Yan, Wang Lingjun, and Zhou Mengmeng have landed in Hong Kong. In a quick intro to Mengmeng, Wang Yan refers to Lingjun as just “Xiao Wang,” keeping their real relationship under wraps. Wang Yan quietly tells Mengmeng that she can pass off any grunt work to Lingjun — the perks of being the “assistant.”
While Wang Yan and Mengmeng hit the ground running for work, Lingjun stays behind at the hotel. On the drive, Wang Yan casually reveals to Mengmeng that Lingjun is actually her younger sister. It takes Mengmeng a second, but once she processes it, she starts seeing the resemblance — kind of.
As soon as they arrive, Wang Yan gets hit with bad news from Han Xiaojie: the materials from the factory are a disaster. Not only are they subpar, but the main display materials are completely wrong. And with lighting tests still pending, there’s no time to waste. Wang Yan immediately tells Han to check how fast a remake would take and rushes off with Mengmeng to a meeting with Leshi. On the way, she texts Gao Qian about possibly needing some emergency funds.
Meanwhile, Lingjun, after getting some advice from Cao Kunkun, heads to the riverside and unexpectedly bumps into Le Chuan. But before they can really talk, she gets a call and has to head back. At the venue, Lingjun sees Wang Yan in full boss mode for the first time — sharp, commanding, and totally in charge. Feeling a little out of place, Lingjun awkwardly stands up when she sees everyone else standing during the briefing.
The next day’s schedule is intense, and Lingjun’s new job includes waking Wang Yan up at 7 a.m. sharp. First stop: the problematic factory. The factory manager is rude and uncooperative, even threatening to stop production if they insist on a redo. Wang Yan doesn’t flinch — she tells him to go ahead and shut it down, then leaves Han behind to calculate penalties and damages.
Luckily, Mengmeng has already sourced a backup factory, but both she and Han are too busy to oversee production. Enter Lingjun. Wang Yan gives her the rundown, and just like that, Lingjun’s promoted from errand girl to on-site quality control — and earns herself another month of free rent in the process.
As the exhibition approaches, everyone’s running on fumes. Wang Yan subtly notices an intern wearing a knockoff of the sponsor’s jewelry and, without calling her out, discreetly offers her an alternative set to wear — classy move. Meanwhile, Lingjun is beaming after receiving her own name-tagged staff badge.
But just when things seem to be under control, disaster strikes again: the event host is MIA, and worse, the showcase sapphire — the centerpiece of the event — hasn’t arrived. If Song Yifei refuses to use the backup, the whole show could implode. Wang Yan doesn’t panic. She tells Mengmeng she’ll host the event herself and instructs her to schedule Song Yifei as the final act, buying time for the sapphire’s arrival.
Lingjun, watching her sister take the stage in place of the host, realizes something’s up. When she hears about the missing sapphire, she starts to worry. But Wang Yan pulls it off like a pro, and in a dramatic, well-timed twist, the sapphire arrives and is revealed in style. The event is a success.
Afterwards, Lingjun feels inadequate compared to her powerhouse sister, but Wang Yan — for once — shows some sisterly warmth and takes her out for drinks. That’s when the night takes another unexpected turn: up on stage is Le Chuan, performing as the lead singer of a special band. Wang Yan recognizes him as a family member of a patient from the hospital and quickly picks up on the fact that his eyes keep drifting toward Lingjun.
Lingjun tries to play it cool, insisting she barely knows him. But just as they’re leaving, Le Chuan runs out and calls her name — so much for playing it cool.
Final Thoughts:
Episode 23 is packed with tension, fast-paced problem-solving, and a splash of unexpected romance. Wang Yan continues to shine as the no-nonsense queen of crisis management, while Lingjun starts to find her footing in the professional world — and maybe even in love.
