With Love with You: Episode 4

Spoiler Alert

By your friendly neighborhood drama insider

Office politics, relationship drama, and a whole lot of scheming – Episode 4 of With Love with You delivers another juicy chapter in this not-so-typical workplace love story.

Let’s dive in.

Spoiler Alert: Corporate Games are Heating Up

Fang Li is back playing puppet master, and this time he’s setting the stage for a little internal competition. He splits the core members of the client department into two teams, telling them their quarterly performance will determine who gets to move into the coveted role of business development lead.

But of course, it's not just about KPIs and sales numbers. Fang Li pulls Gao Qian aside after the meeting and drops a little bombshell – he’s heavily backing Li Fei for the spot. His plan? Let her tag along on a few big deals with him so she can earn her stripes and smoothly climb that corporate ladder. According to Fang Li, Wang Yan’s only advantage is a few more years of client-handling experience, whereas Li Fei comes from management and is destined to rise further.

His ace in the hole? The massive Yuanzhou project.

Wang Yan Makes Her Move First

Too bad for Fang Li, Wang Yan’s not one to sit around waiting to be outmaneuvered. When the team starts discussing high-stakes projects, she beats Li Fei to the punch by bringing up Yuanzhou’s upcoming hotel launch – a luxury chain called Lian, planning its first flagship in Shenzhen. Wang Yan makes it clear: she wants that deal.

Gao Qian, playing both sides smoothly, helps set the board – Li Fei will take over the Lingyue project, while Wang Yan focuses all her firepower on Yuanzhou. It's a high-risk play. If she wins, the business development role is practically hers. If she fails, she might not even pass her quarterly review.

Watching Yuanzhou slide further out of reach, Li Fei closes her laptop, quietly shelving her own presentation on the same project.

Sister Shenanigans and Morning Drama

Meanwhile, Wang Lingjun is having a whole mini-adventure of her own. After crashing at Wang Yan’s place the night before, she wakes up and tries on all of her sister’s clothes before settling on a modest outfit. She rushes off to meet Liao Fanmu, who’s waiting for her outside the hospital cafeteria.

When he asks if she called their parents to check in, she lies (poorly), and he immediately calls her out—literally. He dials her dad right in front of her. While she hides, watching in panic, a chipper female colleague strolls over to Liao Fanmu with a big smile and even opens his drink for him. That’s all it takes for Wang Lingjun to jump out and call him “brother-in-law” on the spot, scaring off the competition.

Fang Li’s Power Plays Continue

Back at the office, Wang Yan and Gao Qian’s little theater act is working – they’re gaining early traction with the Yuanzhou project. But Wang Yan still can’t stand how Fang Li operates. To her, he’s all about manipulation and power games.

To Fang Li, though, Li Fei is his only true ally in the company – loyal and obedient. So loyal, in fact, that he asks her to wear stockings and a short skirt to a company banquet. Gross. And sadly, she doesn’t feel like she can say no.

️ Date Night Disasters

Elsewhere, things are getting messy between Wang Yan and Liao Fanmu. He’s prepared a cozy dinner, complete with wine and birthday gifts. She uses the “I’m driving” excuse to skip the wine, but he casually offers to drive her in the morning. Translation: He wants her to stay the night.

Then he brings up the big one – their parents getting together to discuss marriage. Again. Wang Yan finally drops the truth: they’re no longer on the same page. She wants a break. Liao Fanmu is crushed.

He ends up sitting on the side of the road, sulking, until a hospital colleague gives him a “solution”: go big or go home. It’s time for a grand, romantic proposal.

Final Thoughts

Episode 4 brings the tension up a notch – both in the office and in matters of the heart. Fang Li’s Machiavellian tactics are starting to show cracks, Wang Yan is staking her claim, and the Yuanzhou deal is becoming the battleground for future power.

And as for love? Let’s just say everyone’s playing a different game – and not everyone knows the rules.
