Wanna Be – Episode 24 Recap & Spoilers
Episode 24 kicks off with Jia Fan getting a fresh makeover, courtesy of Dong Xiaoru. With a new look and a little electric scooter, he heads back to Moyi Road—his old stomping ground. In the parking lot, he runs into CEO Ling, who’s catching a quick nap in her car (relatable). She warns him: just because he’s back doesn’t mean she’s forgiven him. And oh—keep your distance from Han Yijing while you’re at it.
Back at Moyi Road, Jia Fan gets a warm welcome from his old coworkers. Even CEO Ling, watching from a distance, can’t help but smile at the reunion. But the good vibes take a turn when she suddenly collapses on her way back to the office. Turns out, she’s running on fumes—zero sleep and low blood sugar finally caught up with her.
In the hospital, CEO Ling wakes up still thinking about work (of course) and sends Wu Ming to oversee Jia Fan’s test shoot. Then XIng Mo bursts into the room in full worried-boyfriend mode. Ling, clearly flustered, pretends she’s just trying to nap and shoos him away. Meanwhile, Han Yijing finds out he’s there and decides not to go in—maybe to give them some space?
Jia Fan tells Han Yijing he’s got a packed schedule for the next month but promises to meet her after his shoot. Meanwhile, Han Yijing sees through CEO Ling’s fake nap act and calls Xing Mo out—why stay if she doesn’t want you there? But Xing Mo insists he’s staying to make sure she gets at least 12 hours of rest.
Han Yijing starts to understand where CEO Ling is coming from—she’s juggling a startup and trying to support Jia Fan. Just then, Ling gets a call and storms off despite Xing Mo’s concern. She even snaps at him before leaving solo. Han Yijing is done—she tells Xing Mo to let go. CEO Ling just isn’t worth all this pain.
Later, CEO Ling meets secretly with Director Li, asking her to keep something under wraps—not for her career’s sake, but because she matters more than the job. Definitely some mysterious stakes building here. Si Min also tries to vouch for Jia Fan and Han Yijing, mentioning Huang Jinde. CEO Ling gives her blessing, saying real love has to be tested to prove itself.
After Jia Fan’s shoot, he finds Han Yijing dancing alone in the studio. He watches her in awe until Si Min calls to warn him about Huang Jinde—seems shady. Jia Fan hangs up and goes straight in to hug Han Yijing, ready to spill a secret. But before he can say a word, she opens up first.
Through teary eyes, Han Yijing tells Jia Fan about her leg—she might not recover fully. She asks if he’ll still love her even if she can’t work again. Jia Fan doesn’t hesitate: he says he’ll take care of her, no matter what. Moved, she tells him she’d do the same for him. Then—finally—a heartfelt kiss. Cue the swoon.
Elsewhere, Jia Fan’s popularity is driving major business to his family’s seafood shop. He’s working hard, crushing his shoots, and even impressing Panio. Meanwhile, You Ning is off in her own world, dramatically rehearsing monologues by herself while Xing Mo plays basketball nearby. She begs him for acting tips, so he channels CEO Ling in a spontaneous scene that leaves her speechless. It’s probably the most emotion she’s ever seen from him.
As Liao Jinyuan returns to his hotel after a workout, he bumps into Wu Ming. Nothing big—just a casual hello. But later, Liao finds a mysterious doctor’s business card left on a table. Intrigue, anyone?
The episode wraps with a major shift: Xing Mo wants to terminate his contract with Moyi Road. CEO Ling pleads with him to stay, but he’s made up his mind. She has no choice but to let him go. Liao Jinyuan calls Xing Mo asking about Jia Fan, and Xing Mo confirms—Jia Fan is now Moyi Road’s rising star. And busy as hell.
Things are heating up in Wanna Be—love’s getting tested, careers are on the line, and everyone’s hiding something. See you in the next episode.
