"Love Again" Episode 33: Family Matters, Bad Investments, and a Whole Lotta Drama
Okay, folks, things are getting complicated in the Shen household. With Le Shuishan looking exactly like Jingmin, the family's all kinds of messed up about who should be buried with whom when the time comes. Le Shuishan wants to be with Shen Zhuoran, but Shen Qing and Shen Dai are adamant that Shen Zhuoran belongs with Jingmin, even in the afterlife! Shen Qing's so done with it, he's opting for a sea burial, while Shen Dai wants to be buried with her mom, Jingmin. Shen Zhuoran's caught in the middle, still hung up on Jingmin but not wanting to hurt Le Shuishan. He vents to Ding Mu, who, bless his heart, can't offer much comfort due to his Alzheimer's.
Meanwhile, Ice Li is in hot water at Rui Zhifeng. After making some unauthorized payments, the shareholders are coming for her, and she gets suspended. Shen Qing feels guilty about it, but then Shide Corporation makes things worse by snatching Rui Zhifeng's books for an audit. An Ruifeng convinces Shen Qing to play nice with Shide, because the investment money is too important to lose.
In medical news, one of Shen Qing's clinical trial participants has a cardiac arrest! Shen Qing and Dr. Qin rush to the hospital, and thankfully, the patient pulls through. Shen Dai tells Shen Zhuoran her burial plan which is to be buried with her mother Jingmin, leaving Shen Zhuoran to be buried with Le Shuishan.
Liu Lina's in a financial pickle. Her investment in Xi Le Hui using a business loan is MIA. She calls Xiao Bai, who assures her it's a sure thing, but Lina's getting antsy. Shen Zhuoran and Gou Bingqiang visit Ding Mu at the nursing home, where Lu Yuan is promoting body donation. She's doing great, supports Lu Xinghuo's marriage, and Shen Zhuoran's happy for her.
Shen Qing and Dr. Qin are about to head out on a business trip when they're called back to the office. Xiao Jin mentions Ice Li's resignation, which surprises Shen Qing. He sets up a meeting with Ice Li at the airport before she leaves.
Back at home, Liu Lina's still waiting for that Xi Le Hui payout, and she's not happy. She blows up at Shen Qing over some dirty laundry, then vents to Shen Dai about wanting a divorce. Shen Dai tries to defend Shen Qing, but Lina's furious. Shen Duole overhears everything and asks Shen Dai for help with his plans to study abroad.
Liu Debao gets all dressed up for a fishing trip, but Sun Baoqin finds that 5,000 yuan farm stay card and confronts him. He admits Liu Lina gave him the money, and Sun Baoqin forces him to cancel the card. Then, the bomb drops: the Xi Le Hui project is a scam! The boss has run off with the money, and investors are rioting at the company. Liu Lina sees the news and is devastated.
Shen Qing comes home to find out about Liu Lina's disastrous investment. He yells at her, and she unleashes all her pent-up frustrations. They argue, blaming each other for their problems. Sun Baoqin overhears and tears into Liu Lina, then accuses Shen Qing of having an affair. Shen Qing explodes and threatens divorce, and Liu Lina tells him to get out. He storms out, suitcase in hand.
Liu Lina is heartbroken, and Sun Baoqin tries to comfort her. Liu Lina wants to be alone. Sun Baoqin then goes to Peng Yulan to complain. Meanwhile, Liu Debao heads to the farm stay, intending to cancel the card, but he hesitates.
