Episode Summary
Episode 34 sees Sun Baoqin and Liu Debao's marriage strained as Sun Baoqin confronts him about his spending habits. Le Shuishan's desire to be buried with Shen Zhuoran causes family conflict. Tragedy strikes when Gou Bingqiang dies after saving Liu Debao from a suicide attempt, leading to emotional fallout and revelations.

Sun Baoqin is having a major vent session with Peng Yulan. While she's there, she spots a fishing rod and it triggers her. See, Liu Debao, her husband, has been spending a fortune at this rural resort, racking up charges for his fishing hobby. Sun Baoqin's first instinct? Break the rod! But it's too sturdy. So, she decides to take it home with her.
Sun Baoqin confronts Liu Debao and demands he cancel his membership at the resort. Liu Debao heads over there, ready to do it, but the owner is super friendly and invites him to eat. He almost caves! Then, Sun Baoqin calls, finds out he hasn't canceled, and storms over there.
Meanwhile, Le Shuishan drops a bomb on Shen Zhuoran: she wants to be buried with him when they die. Shen Zhuoran and his whole family are NOT on board with this. Upset, Le Shuishan goes off to clear her head. When she gets back from her trip, she joins the choir. They've got a new song, and Tian Zhenyang suggests bringing in Liu Lina to choreograph some dance moves. Gou Bingqiang calls Liu Lina, who's down in the dumps because Xi Lehui's investments flopped. But Gou Bingqiang is super persuasive.
Back at the resort, Liu Debao finally tries to cancel his membership, but the owner refuses. Then, a bunch of his fishing buddies show up, making things even more awkward. The owner even starts wiping sweat off Liu Debao's face! That's when Sun Baoqin arrives, fishing rod in hand. She blows up, chews out Liu Debao, and forces the owner to refund the money – 5000 yuan, to be exact. The owner even throws some shade at Liu Debao on the way out.
On the bus home, Liu Dong calls Liu Debao to talk about buying a burial plot. Sun Baoqin snatches the phone and makes it clear they're not buying one. Liu Debao, frustrated, throws his phone out the window! Sun Baoqin makes the bus driver stop so she can find it, but Liu Debao just sits there, fuming.
Liu Lina reluctantly shows up at the choir and adds some dance moves to their song. Shen Qing goes to the airport to see Ice Li off, giving her a farewell gift and well wishes from the company. Ice Li is touched and says she wants to go home and see her father. She hugs Shen Qing goodbye, trying not to cry.
Liu Debao is a mess. He rides the bus all the way to the last stop, a reservoir. Sun Baoqin calls the bus company and finds out where he got off. Worried he's going to do something drastic, she calls Liu Lina. Gou Bingqiang is driving Liu Lina, Ding Mu, and Shen Zhuoran, and they all rush to the reservoir.
And here's where things get REALLY dark. Liu Debao, feeling like he has nothing to live for, tries to drown himself! Liu Lina and the gang arrive just in time to see him in the water. Gou Bingqiang jumps in and saves him. Sun Baoqin shows up and starts yelling at Liu Debao. Liu Lina snaps and blames Sun Baoqin for everything, giving her a piece of her mind.
Ding Mu strips down and goes for a swim in the reservoir. Gou Bingqiang, worried, goes in after him. Ding Mu gets out, happy as can be, but Gou Bingqiang collapses from a heart attack! Liu Lina and Shen Zhuoran rush him to the hospital, but it's too late. Gou Bingqiang dies.
At Gou Bingqiang's memorial service, everyone is heartbroken. Tian Zhenyang is inconsolable. They play a video Gou Bingqiang recorded before he died. In it, he thanks everyone for coming to his funeral, jokes about death, and says he's donating his corneas. He even requests that they don't play sad music, and asks Tian Zhenyang to sing a song for him. Everyone is deeply moved and sings "Cheers, Friend" along with Tian Zhenyang.
After the song, Tian Zhenyang publicly declares her love for Gou Bingqiang. Liu Debao, filled with guilt, breaks down. Liu Lina is also grieving. Shen Qing quietly hands her a tissue. Since Gou Bingqiang's death, Liu Debao has been refusing to eat or drink. Sun Baoqin is terrified. Liu Lina visits Liu Debao and gives him a new phone. Liu Debao says he admires Gou Bingqiang for being his own person. Sun Baoqin feels guilty and regrets yelling at Liu Debao.
