"Love Again" Episode 36: Wedding Crasher, Goodbyes, and New Beginnings (Series Finale!)
Alright, buckle up, because this episode is a rollercoaster of emotions!
So, remember that wedding between Shen Zhuoran and Le Shuishan? Yeah, forget about it. Li Heibao busts in with a heartfelt confession that totally sweeps Le Shuishan off her feet. She ditches the wedding and runs off with Li Heibao! Shen Zhuoran is left standing at the altar, and the first thing he does when he gets home is rip down all the "happiness" decorations. Ouch.
But that's not all that's going on. Shen Duole is heading abroad to study, and the whole family is in full-on support mode, helping him pack. Shen Qing and Liu Lina see him off at the airport, and Sun Baoqin and Liu Debao sneak him some fat red envelopes filled with cash. Seriously, everyone is there to send him off, including his classmates who wear school uniforms designed by Liu Lina. It's a super emotional goodbye, with Shen Duole encouraging Liu Lina to pursue her dreams, reminding her that she's more than just a mom.
With Shen Duole gone, things start to shift. Shen Qing moves out, and Zhou Jing takes Liu Lina out for dinner. Shen Dai is busy prepping for her art exhibition, and she makes a point of showcasing a relatively unknown artist. Shen Qing and Shen Zhuoran go for a hike, reminiscing about their childhood. Shen Zhuoran gives Shen Qing some pep talk about facing life's challenges, drawing on his own experiences. It seems to do the trick! Liu Lina, meanwhile, is out having fun with her girlfriends, feeling a newfound sense of freedom.
When Liu Lina gets back from her trip, Shen Zhuoran has cooked a huge meal for her, using recipes he learned from his ex-girlfriends. He thanks her on behalf of the whole family for her years of dedication and sacrifice. Shen Qing also expresses his gratitude. Shen Zhuoran says he fully supports Liu Lina's fashion career, and regardless of what happens between her and Shen Qing, she'll always be his daughter.
Shen Zhuoran also wants Shen Qing and Shen Dai to be happy. Then he drops a bomb: he's moving into a nursing home to be with Ding Mu! The family protests, but his mind is made up. They all share one last happy meal together.
Shen Zhuoran settles into the nursing home with Ding Mu. Shen Qing, Shen Dai, and Liu Lina help him get his room set up, and they're relieved to see him and Ding Mu happily singing together. Liu Lina enrolls in a fashion training program. Shen Qing and his team finally complete the clinical trials for the cancer drug M701, and it gets approved! Shen Qing immediately messages Liu Lina to share the good news.
At the celebration party, An Ruifeng thanks Shen Qing for his hard work. Boss Qiao, who had previously snubbed the company, shows up and wants to collaborate with Rui Zhifeng. Shen Qing insists that they apologize to Ice Li, which they do via video call. Liu Lina graduates from her training program and lands a project designing uniforms for the volleyball team. Xiao Bai calls Liu Lina to tell her that some of the investment money from Xi Le Hui has been recovered. Liu Lina thanks Xiao Bai for helping her enroll in the training program, and she's already getting orders. Liu Lina goes back to her parents' house and is overcome with emotion when she sees her childhood photos.
Fast forward to the Mid-Autumn Festival. Shen Dai, Shen Qing, and Liu Lina bring Shen Zhuoran home for the holiday and invite the choir members to celebrate. Shen Zhuoran paints on lanterns, and Ding Mu asks him to write Gou Bingqiang's name on one. Shen Zhuoran is touched that Ding Mu remembers Gou Bingqiang. Sun Baoqin, Liu Debao, Lu Yuan, Lian Yilian, and others arrive. Li Heibao and Le Shuishan bring wedding candy for Shen Zhuoran, who wishes them well. Everyone celebrates together with food, drinks, and music. Liu Lina comes home from work to a warm bowl of noodles made by Shen Qing, which makes her feel loved.
