Episode Summary
Dong Erlin gets further entangled in Chen Ling's land scheme, swayed by promises of quick money. Chen Ling faces a crisis when Boss Lin flees due to bribery charges, but manages to rally the workers to continue the project. The Dong family grapples with Chen Ling's actions, and Dong Erlin finally discovers the password to Chen Ling's bank card.

So, Dong Erlin is MIA, and Dong Dalin is freaking out, calling Feng Qiulan. Before Feng Qiulan can even dial Chen Ling, guess who shows up? Chen Ling herself! She's all smiles, announcing she's transferred the land and is waiting for Dong Erlin. Grandpa Dong smells trouble, but Dong Dalin trusts his brother (maybe a little too much) and heads to the city with Grandpa.
Meanwhile, Chen Ling's playing games. Dong Erlin storms in, ready to rumble, but Chen Ling coolly slides a bank card across the table. She sweet-talks him, saying she got a better deal – 60,000 more! – and it's "our" money now. Dong Erlin, bless his heart, falls for her "gotta spend money to make money" spiel hook, line, and sinker.
To keep Dong Erlin happy, Chen Ling takes him to the bank to see the balance, but keeps the password a secret. Just then, Sun Bo pops in to say goodbye to Feng Qiulan, dropping a bomb: Boss Lin is being investigated for bribery and has skipped town! Feng Qiulan is understandably shocked.
Dong Dalin brings Grandpa Dong to the city, and Chen Ling's already got a fancy dinner set up. Dong Yan finds out about the land transfer and wants her ten-acre land back. Chen Ling smooths things over, promising big returns after the project, but also mentions the risk – no profit if things go south. Dong Yan buys it and backs down.
At dinner, Dong Erlin and Chen Ling are all smiles, toasting Grandpa Dong, while Dong Dalin and Feng Qiulan are silent and worried. After dinner, Dong Erlin drives Grandpa Dong home, singing Chen Ling's praises the whole way.
The plot thickens! Chen Ling meets Ma San at a coffee shop. Ma San thinks the bank card isn't safe with Dong Erlin and suggests she report it lost and get a new one. Chen Ling agrees without hesitation. Feng Qiulan confronts Chen Ling at home, with Dong Dalin revealing that Lüfeng Company bought her land, so the 300 acres are now under the cooperative's name. Feng Qiulan then drops the Boss Lin bomb. Chen Ling can't reach Boss Lin and starts panicking, begging Dong Dalin and Feng Qiulan for help.
Dong Dalin scolds Chen Ling for her greed and deception but says they'll help because they're family. Chen Ling, now desperate, tells the workers about Boss Lin's escape and promises to see the project through, sharing all the profits. The workers rally behind her, raising over 300,000 in just half an hour!
Grandma Dong hears the news and rushes to tell Grandpa Dong, who immediately goes to Dong Erlin for money. But Dong Erlin trusts Chen Ling and insists on building the road, even without Boss Lin. As they argue, Chen Ling arrives, announcing the fundraising success. The workers support her, hoping Grandpa Dong will too. Chen Ling mentions sharing all profits, doubling wages and loan interest, which Sis-in-law Feng overhears and wants in on.
Dong Dalin, seeing Chen Ling's stress, suggests his parents move in with him. Grandpa Dong agrees, and the whole family lectures Dong Erlin to get his act together so Chen Ling doesn't get scammed. Finally, Dong Erlin tries the bank card password, guessing Dong Xin's birthday... and it works!
