Poyun is totally freaked out! Why are there TWO Feng Lixues running around? He figures the OG Feng Lixue must have pulled a Lazarus and come back from the dead, and a lot of crazy stuff probably happened in between. So, naturally, he's on a mission to find Wu Chen ASAP.
Speaking of Wu Chen, Murong Jing is tearing her hair out trying to find her. But guess who finds Wu Chen first? Poyun! Wu Chen is desperate to know if she is Feng Lixue. All she's heard are rumors, and she needs the truth. Poyun's not sure who's who anymore, but he's positive Wu Chen isn't Feng Lixue because there's no way Feng Lixue would be with Mo Xiao.
Then, BAM! Phoenix Mask lady shows up and drops a truth bomb on Wu Chen: Mo Xiao killed her father! They're sworn enemies! But Wu Chen is treating this masked avenger like her BFF. Phoenix Mask lady, in a fit of pique, attacks Wu Chen with her Phoenix Feather Chain. Poyun jumps in front to protect Wu Chen, and a bronze mirror falls out of his pocket. During the fight, both Wu Chen and Phoenix Mask lady cough up blood on the mirror, and the two drops merge. Poyun suspects some dark magic – a spirit splitting technique! Wu Chen, understandably, is outta there. She's determined to find the truth her own way.
Murong Jing, still panicking, finally makes it back to Mo Xiao, who was about to go searching. Wu Chen strolls in, telling everyone to chill. She's just an orphan and has nothing to do with the Secret Vault, so no one would bother her. She even asks Mo Xiao if that's how he sees it. Mo Xiao dodges the question, saying it's better to be safe. Wu Chen goes back to her room, looking totally lost. The gang notices she's not the carefree girl she used to be.
That night, Wu Chen has a crazy dream. She sees young Feng Lixue being rescued by Chong Guang. But Feng Lixue is consumed by revenge and wants to kill Mo Xiao and his crew. To make it happen, she forces a wisp of her spirit out of her body. Chong Guang takes that vengeful spirit and seals it away, erasing Feng Lixue's memories and turning her into Wu Chen, the orphan from Mang Mountain. Wu Chen becomes a blank slate, waiting for… something. Wu Chen wakes up, sees Murong Jing sleeping soundly, and doesn't wake her.
The next day, Mo Xiao notices Wu Chen is out of it and tries to check her over. He finds a wound on her wrist, but Wu Chen acts like she has no idea how it got there. She goes to Zisu for medicine, leaving Mo Xiao stunned. He saw the same wound on Phoenix Mask lady! What's going on?!
Lu Shixiong shows up with an order from Yuan Beichen: kill Feng Lixue! Apparently, that's the only way to stop the Secret Vault from causing chaos. Mo Xiao immediately accepts the order, insisting he's the only one who can carry it out. Lu Shixiong, thinking Mo Xiao just wants the glory, is happy to agree.
Xie Lingyun corners Mo Xiao, questioning the kill order. The sect leader is usually merciful, even towards demons. Why this sudden need to kill Feng Lixue? And since no one knows who Feng Lixue is – Wu Chen or Phoenix Mask lady – who are they supposed to kill? Mo Xiao insists Wu Chen is just Wu Chen, not Feng Lixue, which seems to reassure Xie Lingyun. But Mo Xiao is still suspicious of both Wu Chen and Phoenix Mask lady.
Mo Xiao tries to get Wu Chen to open up, but she says everyone has secrets, and you can choose to share them or keep them. Xie Lingyun taught her that! Mo Xiao is speechless.
Chong Guang hears about the kill order and laughs. He thinks Shushan is scared, but he believes Mo Xiao won't kill anyone. He'll investigate, and by the time he finds the truth, it'll be too late! Chang Ming suggests killing Phoenix Mask lady to make things easier for Wu Chen, but Chong Guang isn't worried. Wu Chen will awaken eventually, and when she does, Phoenix Mask lady will disappear.
Wu Chen keeps replaying Phoenix Mask lady's words in her head, wondering if Mo Xiao really killed her father. And Mo Xiao is constantly watching Wu Chen, trying to figure out the connection between her and Phoenix Mask lady.
Meanwhile, Tongming Island appears! Poison Lady and her crew are ready to go, but they find the island surrounded by poisonous fog. They decide to find Phoenix Mask lady ASAP. Mo Xiao hears about Tongming Island and rushes over. The lake is covered in rafts, and tons of people have died trying to reach the island. The survivors are hesitant to go any further.
Lu Shixiong pesters Mo Xiao to kill Feng Lixue. Mo Xiao reminds him he's already accepted the kill order and doesn't need to be nagged. Lu Shixiong leaves in a huff.
Xie Lingyun, tired of waiting for Mo Xiao, takes Murong Jing to the canyon entrance. He tells Zisu and the others to stay behind. Zisu seeks out Wu Chen, and Wu Chen realizes Zisu is there to kill her. Wu Chen says she is happy that Mo Xiao has such a loyal subordinate. She's not trying to cause trouble for Mo Xiao and is about to leave. She asks Zisu to say goodbye to everyone for her.
Before this, Poyun met with Wu Chen. Wu Chen plans to go to Tongming Island, knowing Phoenix Mask lady and Mo Xiao will follow. Poyun knocks out Zisu and takes Wu Chen to Tongming Island himself. Everyone knows Phoenix Mask lady is heading to Tongming Island, and they're all getting ready to make their move.
Mo Xiao locks himself in his room, trying to figure out the connection between Phoenix Mask lady and Wu Chen. He realizes someone used a spirit splitting technique, a forbidden art from the demonic realm! Lu Shixiong, seeing Mo Xiao's inaction, decides to get the disciples of Penglai to kill Feng Lixue.
Zisu wakes up and tells Mo Xiao that Wu Chen has left. She also learns that Phoenix Mask lady is on Tongming Island. Mo Xiao rushes to the canyon entrance and tells Xie Lingyun that Phoenix Mask lady and Wu Chen might be the same person. He's going to Tongming Island to sort things out and orders Xie Lingyun to stop anyone else from going. Xie Lingyun sets up a barrier with Zisu and the others. Poison Lady and her crew arrive and are furious to be stopped. They attack the barrier, determined to get to the island since the Shushan sect is already there.
Poyun takes Wu Chen to Wuming Island, hearing the roars of beasts below. Wuming Island is on the back of a giant beast, and if it wakes up, the island will be destroyed!
Poyun finds a stick to help Wu Chen climb the mountain, remembering how they used to do this together. Wu Chen doesn't remember, but Poyun says it's normal to forget things as you get older. Still, Wu Chen takes the stick and follows Poyun.
Poyun remembers coming here with Feng Xingtian, when the entrance was on the cliff face. But now it's gone! Phoenix Mask lady appears, saying the landscape has changed and the entrance is different. She vows to eliminate Wu Chen today! Wu Chen stands her ground, saying only opening the Secret Vault will reveal who the real Feng Lixue is.
Phoenix Mask lady attacks Wu Chen, but Mo Xiao arrives to save her! Suddenly, the ground cracks open, and Phoenix Mask lady and Poyun fall into one hole, while Mo Xiao and Wu Chen fall into another. Wu Chen says she insisted on coming to open the Secret Vault to prove who the real Feng Lixue is. She suspects Mo Xiao came because he's sure she's Feng Lixue, but he's unsure about her relationship with Phoenix Mask lady. Mo Xiao says he doesn't care who Wu Chen is, he just wants her to stay pure and not fall into darkness.
