Destiny and Saving: Episode 4

Spoiler Alert

Episode 4 of Destiny and Saving brings us straight into the heart of chaos, heartbreak, and some serious sword-flying action—literally.

Flying Swords and Falling Fathers

We open with Mo Xiao showing off some serious sword mastery by letting Feng Lixue stand on his sword as he flies her up the mountain. Romantic? Dangerous? Yes to both. He promises to protect her, and honestly, at this point, who wouldn’t fall for a guy who gives Uber rides on a flying sword?

At the summit, things aren’t looking great. Feng Yu and Feng Xingtian are in the middle of an intense duel. Feng Xingtian’s been wounded by Feng Yu's sword, and Feng Yu’s trying to talk some sense into him—offering him a way out, maybe even a chance to form his own sect. But nope, Xingtian is already deep into the dark arts and not interested in compromise.

The Fall That Changed Everything

Lixue arrives just in time to see her father and Feng Yu trapped in a glowing golden light, with a sword ominously floating above her dad’s head. Desperate to save him, she lashes out with her Phoenix Feather Chain. Bad move—because it knocks the sword loose and sends her father plummeting off a cliff.

And just like that, Lixue believes Feng Yu killed her father. Furious, she tries to take him down herself. Mo Xiao intervenes, but in the chaos, Lixue slips. He grabs her hand, trying to save her, but she pulls away—choosing to fall rather than let go of her thirst for revenge. Her last words? A promise to come back for vengeance, even if she dies.

Mo Xiao screams in agony as dark energy begins to swirl around him. His eyes flash red. Yeah, something is definitely awakening inside of him.

A Savior in the Snow

Luckily, Lixue doesn’t die. She’s rescued by Chong Guang, who gently wipes the blood from her lips and promises that as long as he’s around, she won’t die. (Okay, knight in shining armor vibes.)

Meanwhile, we learn the truth: Feng Xingtian had returned after eight years, already consumed by darkness. Feng Yu, worried about the implications, sacrifices his own divine elixir and power to Mo Xiao before vanishing in a blaze of light. Turns out, he believed Mo Xiao had the potential to protect Shushan—if his powers could be guided toward good.

Only Yuan Beichen, Feng Yu’s disciple, knows the full story. He’s confused, but Feng Yu leaves him strict instructions: keep it secret.

Time Skip: Ten Years Later

Fast forward a decade. Yuan Beichen is now the head of Shushan. When the time comes, he rings the bell to summon leaders from the other sects. Why? Because Feng Yu’s sword is about to reappear—and that means the next leader must be chosen.

Enter: Mo Xiao. He descends from the sky, surrounded by radiant sword energy. Everyone’s impressed, but also a bit skeptical. Beichen brushes those concerns aside and names him the next young sect leader. No vote. No debate.

Despite the politics, Mo Xiao is well-liked. He’s humble, kind to the disciples, and has some old friends—like Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing—who are thrilled to see him again. There's even some playful bickering between Xie and Murong (yep, the childhood rival type). But Mo Xiao? Totally focused. He leaves them mid-convo to go back to training.

Taming the Snow Demon

Word comes in: a snow demon is wreaking havoc in Mangshan. Crops are ruined, and the people are desperate. Mo Xiao takes the mission.

He arrives to find the land frozen solid. The snow demon appears, but Mo Xiao quickly defeats it with the Feng Yue Sword. Problem solved? Not quite. The villagers are grateful, but they’re still facing starvation—no crops, no food.

So, Mo Xiao steps up again. He uses his power to melt the ice, trying to salvage what he can of their farmland. It’s exhausting, and eventually, he collapses in the snow.

Enter: Wu Chen

A mysterious girl in white, Wu Chen, finds him. Along with her pet fox Xue’er, she drags Mo Xiao to safety, gives him spiritual water, and watches over him. She even sacrifices her own food to care for him. Meanwhile, the village elder sends search parties, worried something’s happened to their hero.

Episode 4 is a turning point in Destiny and Saving—a tale of betrayal, sacrifice, and new beginnings. Mo Xiao’s journey from disciple to leader is full of emotional weight, and with Lixue still alive (and mad), the story is only heating up. Literally—he just melted a mountain.

Stay tuned. Things are about to get even more intense.
