Destiny and Saving: Episode 9

Spoiler Alert

Episode 9 of Destiny and Saving starts off light but quickly dives into emotional depths, awkward roommates, and a growing mystery that’s got everyone second-guessing what they think they know.

Xie Lingyun’s Awkward Charm Fails Miserably

Xie Lingyun tries to impress Murong Jing by mimicking the flirtatious style of the rich playboys down the mountain. Spoiler: it doesn’t land. Murong Jing is visibly uncomfortable and not shy about calling him out. She’s frustrated that Xie Lingyun is wasting time on useless tricks instead of helping her figure out how to convince Mo Xiao to let her leave the mountain.

Wu Chen Disappears – Again

The next morning, Mo Xiao checks in on Wu Chen with some serious big-brother energy. He assures her that he’s found a doctor who might be able to cure her, and if he doesn’t come back, she’ll still be cared for. But no matter how much he talks, Wu Chen doesn’t respond. Concerned, Mo Xiao enters her room—only to find it completely empty.

Where’s Wu Chen? She’s left Shushan alone, heartbroken over feeling like a burden to Mo Xiao. She even injures her ankle and ends up talking to a rock Mo Xiao had given her (yes, a literal rock). It’s actually kind of sweet—and sad.

Reunion and Tears

Mo Xiao hears her voice from the rock (it’s magical, okay?) and rushes to find her. He offers to carry her back. Wu Chen tearfully reminds him that this time he insisted on bringing her back—she didn’t beg. Mo Xiao admits it, and Wu Chen finally smiles through her tears. Classic emotionally repressed romance.

New Quest: Find the Miracle Healer

Back at camp, Murong Jing is still scheming to go down the mountain with Mo Xiao, but makes it clear she has zero interest in looking after Wu Chen. Mo Xiao is caught in the middle until Xie Lingyun arrives with news: they’ve located Shi Bujiu, a legendary doctor who might be able to help Wu Chen. The catch? He’ll only meet them at the Ice Lake of Ten Thousand Islands.

Cue: new journey, new disguises, and Wu Chen dressed in male clothing for safety.

Ship Life: Roommate Drama & Bug-Induced Bonding

They set sail on a big boat. Murong Jing throws a fit about having to share a room with Wu Chen, but Mo Xiao insists—it’s for Wu Chen’s safety. Wu Chen even volunteers to bunk with Mo Xiao, but no dice. Murong Jing ends up grudgingly agreeing.

Turns out Wu Chen likes to hug something when she sleeps, and warns Murong Jing she might grab her by accident. Murong Jing scoffs—until a bug crawls into the room. She immediately jumps into Wu Chen’s bed, clinging to her protector. Wu Chen laughs. Bonding: unlocked.

Mo Xiao’s Doubts & Lingering Questions

On deck, Mo Xiao confides in Xie Lingyun that he doesn’t actually believe Shi Bujiu can cure Wu Chen—but he has no choice but to try. What he really wants to know is who the masked figure Wu Chen once mentioned really is. Meanwhile, Zisu brings Wu Chen a Phoenix Feather Chain, but her non-reaction makes Mo Xiao wonder: Is she really Feng Lixue?

A Mysterious Presence and a Watchful Mask

That night, Mo Xiao senses a familiar energy nearby. Though he sees no one, we know the Phoenix Mask woman is watching from the shore. Mo Xiao stares out the window at Wu Chen sleeping, unsure… is she truly Feng Lixue?

Wu Chen Thinks She’s the Bad Guy?

After a few days, Wu Chen and Murong Jing become closer. Murong Jing teaches her to use the Phoenix Feather Chain, hoping Wu Chen can defend herself. But Wu Chen replies, “Why would I fight the bad guys? I am the bad guy.”

Say what now?

Trouble on the Water – And Mo Xiao Jumps Right In

Suddenly, a fight breaks out on the river between three major players: Poison Lady Hong Yue, the Island Lord of Biqiong, and the Elder of Longevity Valley. Xie Lingyun wisely suggests they stay out of it—but Mo Xiao immediately leaps into action. He grabs the Phoenix Order they’re fighting over and tells the trio to go back and tell Phoenix Mask: Mo Xiao is here.

Wu Chen and Murong Jing back him up. Teamwork makes the dream work.

The Mystery Deepens

Mo Xiao gives the Phoenix Order to Wu Chen, who loves it. He believes Phoenix Mask orchestrated this whole fight just to lure him out. If he’s right, finding her will finally uncover the truth: who is the real Feng Lixue?

Schemes Behind Schemes

Meanwhile, Chong Guang hears that the Phoenix Order has been taken and warns Chang Ming not to ruin his plans. Chang Ming questions why Chong Guang isn’t stopping Jixing Luo, who clearly has his own agenda. Chong Guang says it’s Demon Clan business, and if the Star Lord doesn’t attend, people might start asking questions.

Final Moves: Luring the Enemy

After Mo Xiao spreads news of the Phoenix Order, waves of dark forces come testing their strength. Murong Jing and Xie Lingyun are forced to fight off ambushes while Wu Chen stays close to Mo Xiao, even helping him change shoes (yes, literally).

Tired of the constant attacks, they abandon the big ship for a smaller one, leaving behind a clue (a black spider mark) to make it look like Poison Lady stole the Phoenix Order.

A Familiar Place – And a Hint of the Past

Finally, they arrive at a market town—once home to Feng Xingtian. Wu Chen sees the Xing Tian Manor and suddenly refuses to leave. Something about it feels too familiar…

Final Thoughts

Episode 9 delivers major emotional beats, subtle reveals, and keeps the central mystery hot: Who is Feng Lixue? Is Wu Chen more than she seems? And what exactly is Phoenix Mask’s endgame?
