Episode Summary
Ding Zhitong deals with a new MD (Qin Chang) at work and her cousin He Jin, who's after money. Gan Yang returns, proposes, and helps Zhitong deal with He Jin. Song Mingmei gets rescued by Qin Chang. Gan Yang has to leave due to family matters.

So, Ding Zhitong is at work when she finds out they've got a new MD. Turns out Deborah didn't get that promotion because of the whole Jia Fan situation. And guess who the new MD is? Qin Chang! Zhitong is surprised, and all her coworkers are buzzing about it, especially since she and Qin Chang went to the same school. Everyone wants to know if he's hot. Zhitong's already clued in – she took one of his classes and knows he's good-looking and a pretty decent guy.
Right when she gets back to her desk, Zhitong calls Song Mingmei to spill the tea about Qin Chang joining Hetai. But get this – they run into each other in the elevator. Qin Chang asks Mingmei out to dinner, but she plays it cool and makes plans with Zhitong for that night instead. Zhitong figures Mingmei must have seen Qin Chang because she's acting all flustered.
Mingmei is stoked to see Qin Chang, especially because he's wearing the tie she gave him. Qin Chang makes a point to say hi to Zhitong, who knows Mingmei has a thing for him. So, Zhitong tells Qin Chang about their dinner plans and conveniently bails, leaving those two to chat. Smooth move, Zhitong.
Later, Zhitong starts missing Gan Yang. He messages her, saying he misses her too and promises to come see her soon. She falls asleep dreaming about him writing "Tongtong, I miss you" in the snow. The next morning, she wakes up to Gan Yang calling her name – he's back! And he's got news: his mom wants to meet her. Zhitong's excited but also super nervous.
Drama alert! Zhitong's cousin, He Jin, finds out her aunt lent Zhitong money and shows up at her workplace to cause a scene, demanding the money back. Feng Sheng tries to step in, but Zhitong shuts it down. She warns He Jin to back off or she'll call the cops because that money isn't going to his gambling habit. Xu Chenxi sees the whole thing and threatens to tell Gan Yang, but Zhitong doesn't even care. She wants him to know. Xu Chenxi suspects Zhitong is just trying to use Gan Yang for money, so she decides to keep quiet. But guess who overhears their conversation? He Jin! He's convinced Zhitong's got a rich boyfriend.
That night, Zhitong's supposed to meet Gan Yang's mom for dinner, but she sees He Jin lurking outside the restaurant. Afraid he'll make trouble, she chickens out and doesn't go in. Gan Yang waits forever and can't reach her on her phone, so he starts freaking out. He finds her back at home, soaking wet. He doesn't even get mad; he just hugs her tight and tells her to get cleaned up.
Zhitong feels terrible and apologizes to Gan Yang's mom on the phone. Mom's understanding and just glad she's safe. Zhitong, relieved, decides to come clean to Gan Yang about everything – her dad's illness, the debt, and being harassed by loan sharks. That's why she's been so hesitant to accept his money; she doesn't want their relationship to be ruined by it. Gan Yang is even more in love with her after hearing all this.
Earlier that day, Zhitong had tried to ditch He Jin before meeting Gan Yang's mom, but he was persistent. By the time she lost him and went back, they were gone, and she got caught in the rain. Gan Yang wipes away her tears and admits he's scared she'll suffer, get hurt, or leave him. He promises to always be there for her.
The next morning, right after brushing his teeth, Gan Yang proposes! He wants to give her a home. Zhitong's thrilled but asks him to wait two years so she can pay off her debts and marry him without any baggage. Gan Yang suggests they teach He Jin a lesson and comes up with a plan.
They stage a scene in front of Zhitong's workplace. Gan Yang shows up in a fancy car, and He Jin immediately begs for money. Gan Yang pretends to break up with Zhitong, accusing her of being a gold digger. He Jin then demands compensation for emotional distress, but Gan Yang's prepared. He pulls out a list of all the stuff he's bought for Zhitong, totaling a ton of cash, and demands He Jin pay him back or he'll call the cops. He Jin bolts! Gan Yang and Zhitong crack up and high-five.
Meanwhile, Song Mingmei's stuck entertaining some company exec who gets a little too handsy. Qin Chang swoops in to rescue her and gives her a ride home. Mingmei's hoping he'll finally confess his feelings, but he doesn't.
Plot twist! Gan Yang gets a call from Xu Chenxi, who says she's met his dad. Gan Yang sees a photo and confirms it's him. He cooks a special dinner for Zhitong and tells her he has to go home for a bit but will visit her parents when he gets back. Zhitong agrees to wait for him.
