Gan Yang surprisingly agrees to financing but wants Ding Zhitong off the project, claiming it's for her own good. Ding Zhitong gets offered a Hong Kong project but uncovers evidence to help Gan Yang with a PR crisis. She heads to Hong Kong, while Gan Yang, realizing his feelings, misses her at the airport and mistakenly attacks Feng Sheng.

So, the episode kicks off with the aftermath of the training box financing proposal. At the shareholder meeting, Gan Yang brings it up, knowing most people have already signed off. Surprisingly, even though some express support for Gan Yang's initial decision against financing, he suddenly agrees to it! Everyone's a little shocked but relieved.
Outside, Wang Yi corners Gan Yang, wanting to know why the change of heart. Gan Yang plays it off, saying it's all for the company's benefit. He claims the financing will help them break into the market without losing control. Wang Yi buys it, but then gets to the real question: has he explained things to Ding Zhitong? She figures Ding Zhitong will have plenty of chances to investigate the project later. But here's the kicker: Gan Yang wants Ding Zhitong off the project after the financing goes through! He wants her to have a peaceful life, free from his interference, and doesn't want her to know about his past. Wang Yi worries about her promotion, but Gan Yang assures her he's got a bigger project lined up that will guarantee her advancement, while also removing her from his orbit. Smooth move, Gan Yang, smooth move.
Enter Zhang, who brings Ding Zhitong to discuss the financing details. Zhang praises Ding Zhitong's abilities, and Gan Yang quickly agrees to the financing but with a condition: Ding Zhitong has to be taken off the project. Ding Zhitong stares daggers at Gan Yang, and the tension is palpable.
Wang finds out Ding Zhitong is being replaced and is surprised. However, she doesn't have a valid reason to object, so she instructs her subordinate to agree. She also has them give Ding Zhitong an expensive bottle of wine as a thank you. Zhang knows that Gan Yang wouldn't have agreed to the financing without Ding Zhitong, and Wang's reaction shows that they highly value Ding Zhitong's work. There's a project in Hong Kong that specifically requested Ding Zhitong to be in charge, but before that, she can take a week off.
