"Hidden Master" Episode 12: Drama, Betrayal, and a Whole Lotta Complications

Okay, buckle up, because things are getting messy in "Hidden Master." This episode is all about conflicting loyalties, hidden agendas, and the ever-tempting allure of forbidden power.

It kicks off with Zhuge Heng, still consumed by revenge, trying to convince Gou Lingfeng to embrace the dark side and study demonic arts. He's going full history lesson, laying out all the reasons why they should team up and wreak havoc. But Gou Lingfeng isn't having it. He's desperately trying to steer Zhuge Heng away from the darkness, even revealing some personal secrets as a warning. They're at odds, and Zhuge Heng storms off in a drunken huff, leaving Gou Lingfeng to ponder his choices.

Remember Ye Dahei? Well, helping him has put Gou Lingfeng squarely between the imperial court and the Wulin (martial arts world) alliance. Ma Yingdan is trying to figure out who to trust with a crucial list, and the Wulin alliance seems like the obvious choice. But Zhuge Heng is done with their hypocrisy. He'd rather Gou Lingfeng take the list straight to the Demonic Sect and become their leader! Talk about a plot twist.

Then, BAM! Gou Lingfeng's master, the Old Beggar, shows up out of nowhere. Zhuge Heng is thrilled, recognizing him as his grandmaster. He even pulls out a secret manual he swiped from Gou Lingfeng (sneaky!) and begs the Old Beggar to explain some mysterious sword techniques.

Gou Lingfeng is understandably furious, but the Old Beggar is even angrier. He's livid that Zhuge Heng, who is associated with the Jianmeng Sect (Sword Alliance), has his hands on the manual. Apparently, there's some serious bad blood between the Old Beggar and the Jianmeng Sect. Swords are drawn, Gou Lingfeng steps in to stop the fight, and the Old Beggar storms off, leaving Gou Lingfeng completely bewildered.

Meanwhile, Wang Zipeng, the writer, is getting grilled by Linglong Princess. She thinks his stories about the Jianghu (martial arts world) are fluff. She tasks him with keeping an eye on Zhuge Heng and finds out Zhuge Heng is interested in the Moon Sword Style.

Gou Lingfeng is still wrestling with his conscience when Deng Yunfeng and He Changzai arrive with a whole crew, ready to arrest him. Ma Yingdan and the others try to stop them, but He Changzai insists it's out of his hands – it's up to the Wulin alliance leader. Gou Lingfeng, trusting in the leader's fairness, hands over the list and goes willingly, despite everyone's protests.

Ma Yingdan, determined to save Gou Lingfeng, digs into the Wulin alliance's history and realizes He Changzai is just using this as an excuse to get revenge. When confronted, He Changzai claims Gou Lingfeng is different because he possesses demonic powers. Ma Yingdan then pulls off her gloves, revealing her poisonous touch, and scares He Changzai away.

Later that night, the Old Beggar breaks into the prison to rescue Gou Lingfeng. But Gou Lingfeng, still clinging to his heroic ideals, refuses to leave. The Old Beggar then drops a bombshell: Liao Jiale's death was orchestrated by the Wulin alliance! Gou Lingfeng refuses to believe it, and the Old Beggar leaves in frustration.

Back at Zhuge Heng's place, he's sulking because Gou Lingfeng won't teach him demonic arts. Ma Yingdan suffers another attack from her poison, reminding her of Gou Lingfeng's past help. Deng Yunfeng pressures He Changzai for the list, but He Changzai claims it's already been submitted. Linglong Princess warns Deng Yunfeng not to mess with their plans.

Then, Baihe Xia (White Crane Swordsman) arrives in town, wanting to see Gou Lingfeng. He offers to help Gou Lingfeng escape, but Gou Lingfeng refuses. Baihe Xia drugs him and when Gou Lingfeng wakes up, he finds out that Hei Chu Xia (Black Chick Swordsman) killed his master and stole the ancient sword. Baihe Xia asks Gou Lingfeng for help and promises to vouch for him with the Wulin alliance leader. Gou Lingfeng reluctantly agrees.

The episode ends with Baihe Xia explaining the situation. He claims he can't fight because of a toothache. Zhuge Heng suggests creating a fake sword to trick Hei Chu Xia, and Baihe Xia surprisingly agrees.

So, yeah, it's a lot. Gou Lingfeng is caught between his desire to be a hero, the allure of demonic power, and the growing realization that the people he trusts might be the ones he should fear the most. And Zhuge Heng? He's just itching for revenge, no matter the cost.
