Episode Summary
Ma Yingdan tests Gou Lingfeng's poison immunity. Zhuge Heng comforts Ling'er, who knows Xiao Zhen isn't her real father. Linglong Princess decides to stay in Huizhou City to form alliances. A reporter, Wang Zipeng, investigates the previous Vice President's death and targets Gou Lingfeng, who ends up being portrayed as a fraud. Ma Yingdan reveals her poisonous nature and seeks Gou Lingfeng's help, but he panics when she wants him to test her poison.

The episode kicks off with Deng Yunfeng noticing Ma Yingdan is holding some kind of pill. Turns out, it's just a sugar pill from the North! Ma Yingdan tells him to pass it off as a super-powerful antidote. Deng Yunfeng is confused but goes along with it. Then, Ma Yingdan, curious about Gou Lingfeng's unusual resistance to poison, tricks him into drinking a concoction of super deadly stuff. Gou Lingfeng doesn't even flinch! He just says it tastes a little sour and bitter. Ma Yingdan is totally baffled.
Meanwhile, Zhuge Heng ditches Gou Lingfeng to hang out with Ling’er. Ling’er is drawing a picture of her dad, because she's worried she'll forget what he looks like. Zhuge Heng feels bad because he knows Xiao Zhen isn't really her dad, but Ling’er already figured it out! She knows Xiao Zhen isn't her biological father, but she also knows he loves her. Zhuge Heng comforts her, telling her what Xiao Zhen has said, and Ling'er cries in his arms.
Linglong Princess, seeing the rise of the Demonic Sect and all the power plays happening, decides to stay in the city. She wants to work with Deng Yunfeng to get Eunuch Deng and Prince of Chang to team up. Prince of Chang is happy she's so strategic, but Linglong Princess warns him not to trust Eunuch Deng completely. She also suggests they look into forming alliances with the Gou family's business and the Jianmeng Sect. Smart girl!
He Changzai gets promoted to Vice President of Rong Sheng, and everyone's trying to suck up to him. Then, this bookish guy named Wang Zipeng shows up. He's from the Jianghu Gazette in Huizhou, and he's investigating the previous Vice President's death. People try to get rid of him, but Wang Zipeng is persistent.
He Changzai, annoyed, sends him after Gou Lingfeng. After Wang Zipeng leaves, He Changzai secretly calls Gou Lingfeng and Zhuge Heng and tells them that Linglong Princess is now living in Huizhou City. She's even bought the Su family's house across from Zhuge Heng's place!
The Hero Association is short-staffed, so He Changzai orders Gou Lingfeng and Zhuge Heng to clean up Linglong Princess's new house. Zhuge Heng tries to bribe He Changzai to get out of it, but this time it's an order from Prince of Chang. Ma Yingdan shows up to help. Linglong Princess arrives and tries to get Zhuge Heng to spend some time with her. Ma Yingdan sees that the princess has a crush on Zhuge Heng and turns her down, saying Zhuge Heng needs to take care of Ling'er.
Gou Lingfeng is using the outhouse, and suddenly his old master, the Old Beggar, shows up asking for money. Gou Lingfeng sees through his disguise and accuses him of teaching him Demonic Sect techniques. He asks if the Old Beggar is really part of the Demonic Sect. The Old Beggar insists that what he taught was the true path, not some evil stuff.
After the Old Beggar leaves, Wang Zipeng pops out of a well. He's shocked to see Gou Lingfeng and says that the Sword Saint's son is his student, which explains why the previous Vice President couldn't beat him. Gou Lingfeng denies it and says Zhuge Heng killed the Vice President. Wang Zipeng doesn't believe him and starts writing it all down, determined to get the real story.
Gou Lingfeng, feeling cocky, starts bragging about killing the Vice President, protecting Prince of Chang, and solving the haunted house mystery. But Wang Zipeng twists his words and publishes an article portraying Gou Lingfeng as a crazy con artist.
That night, Gou Lingfeng realizes that the "antidote" pills are just sugar pills. Ma Yingdan tells him that he's immune to all poisons. The blackness on his hands was just her hair dye. The next morning, Ma Yingdan invites Gou Lingfeng, Zhuge Heng, and Ling'er to meet. She reveals her background.
Ma Yingdan is from Poison Immortal Valley and is naturally poisonous. She's been trying to find a cure for years, but no one can help her. When she met Gou Lingfeng and realized he wasn't affected by her poison, she got hopeful. She thinks he might be the key to her cure.
Gou Lingfeng is scared but acts brave and promises to help. But when Ma Yingdan brings out a plate of fried scorpions and wants him to try them, Gou Lingfeng freaks out and runs away!
