Episode 1 Recap & Spoilers:

So, Yuexia Qiushen matchmaking agency is in a bit of a slump. Business is so slow that everyone's resorting to handing out flyers on the street – talk about old school! Cheng Xu actually manages to reel in a client, but Feng Qingming quickly discovers they're looking for a match... for their dog. Yeah, not exactly in their service portfolio. Feng Qingming is fuming and ready to give Cheng Xu a piece of his mind, but Ye Lang steps in to play peacemaker.

But the drama doesn't stop there. A client named Qian Yuanyuan storms into the office, hunting for Xia Wanqing. Apparently, she got scammed by a blind date named Xu Bin. Twelve wan (that's twelve ten thousand yuan!), all her savings, gone! She spills the whole story to Feng Qingming and the team, and it takes all of Feng Qingming's patience to get her out the door. Xia Wanqing, meanwhile, sees Qian Yuanyuan at the entrance and does a quick disappearing act. Smart move, because she definitely doesn't want to face that situation.

Turns out Yuexia Qiushen's owner is broke, so they sold the company to Qianshou Group for a bargain. The group sends Qin Tianyue to check things out, and she witnesses the whole Qian Yuanyuan meltdown. Ye Lang and the others are totally in the dark about the sale; Feng Qingming hadn't gotten around to telling them yet, so Qin Tianyue's arrival is a complete surprise.

Qin Tianyue drops the bomb: she's the new general manager. Everyone keeps their jobs for now, but salaries will be adjusted based on performance. She lays down the law with attendance policies, new rules, and… weekly reports and work summaries. This does not go down well. Feng Qingming, demoted to deputy manager, is especially salty. He suggests everyone just not write the summaries to see how Qin Tianyue handles it.

The next day, everyone but Feng Qingming turns in their summaries. He was out trying to get Xu Bin to return Qian Yuanyuan's money, and after getting nowhere, he arrives late to a room full of tattletales. Busted! Qin Tianyue calls him into her office and brings up the Qian Yuanyuan situation. Her take? If the money can't be recovered, Xia Wanqing should foot the bill. Feng Qingming isn't having it; Xia Wanqing definitely doesn't have 120,000 yuan lying around.

Feng Qingming cooks up a terrible plan: Cheng Xu pretends to be a gangster to scare Xu Bin into giving back the money. It actually works for a minute, but Cheng Xu forgets his lines, and Xu Bin sees right through the act. He goes back to being a deadbeat, saying he'd rather die than pay up.

Meanwhile, Qin Tianyue renames the company "思缔妮" (Sì dì nī), a transliteration of "Destiny". While the staff is out, she meets with a client named Lei Lei. Qin Tianyue is still new and clueless about the agency's services, but luckily, Ye Lang comes to the rescue. Qin Tianyue assigns Lei Lei to him. The problem? Apparently, everyone's using MBTI personality types to find matches these days, and Ye Lang has no idea what that is. He ends up hitting up Cheng Xu for a crash course to get up to speed.
