So, Qin Tianyue pays Mrs. Gua visit to chat about Zhou Ting. Mrs. Gu then spills the tea, explaining that Zhou Ting carries the Gu surname because Gu Jianhuamarried into the family. Turns out, Zhou Ting's maternal grandpa founded the company! Mrs. Gu's own mom handpicked Gu Jianhua as her husband. Apparently, Mrs. Gu and Gu Jianhua's marriage was arranged initially, but they grew to love each other. He's a great guy, husband, and father, so he wants to find a suitable partner for his daughter. Qin Tianyue gets their parental concerns but argues that love and marriage can't be forced. She believes Zhou Ting deserves a more fulfilling life than one dictated by her parents. Mrs. Gu seems to take her words to heart, looking thoughtful.
Meanwhile, with Xia Wanqing's help, Lei Lei and Xing Tian are finally acting like a normal couple – basically, they're learning how to date. Xia Wanqing is thrilled. They’re also realizing how tough it is to be a matchmaker. It's not just about setting people up; you have to dig into their interests and habits to make a good match. Lei Lei and Xing Tian go to see a lighthouse at night because there's a legend that if a couple sees the lights turn on together, they'll be together forever. And guess what? They see the lights! Cue the romantic kiss.
In a surprising turn, Gu Jianhua calls Ye Lang, wanting to meet with everyone. The whole company heads to the Gu residence, feeling super anxious. Zhou Ting and Qiu Zeyang are there too. Gu Jianhua puts Zhou Ting on the spot, forcing her to choose between the company and Qiu Zeyang. But Zhou Ting refuses to pick! She wants to run the company and be with Qiu Zeyang. Qiu Zeyang feels bad for causing so much drama for the Gu family, as that wasn't his intention. To prove his commitment to Zhou Ting, he pulls out a notarized prenuptial agreement, hoping Zhou Ting can focus on her work without worry and to reassure her parents. Finally, Gu Jianhua announces that he and his wife approve of their relationship. He claims the whole thing was just a test for Qiu Zeyang, hoping they understand.
With Zhou Ting and Qiu Zeyang sorted, Qin Tianyue sees an opportunity to expand the business by landing their wedding. She shares the idea with Feng Qingming, who's totally on board and promises to make it happen. But then, Qin Tianyue gets a call from headquarters – layoffs are coming. Even though Si Ting Niis small, they'll be implementing a bottom-performer elimination system for the next three months.
Adding to the chaos, Ma Xintian returns, but this time, she's not looking for a match for her dog, Bawan. She wants a husband for herself and chooses Cheng Xu as her matchmaker. Cheng Xu isn't the best at it, but thankfully, Feng Qingming helps out. Ma Xintian's requirements are simple: someone who loves dogs and is liked by Bawan. Qin Tianyue then drops the bomb about the headquarters' layoff mandate. The worst performers are the newbie, Li Lefan, and Xia Wanqing, who haven't met their KPIs for the month. Qin Tianyue fines them, but Xia Wanqing gets docked 1000 while Li Lefan only gets 500. Xia Wanqing is fuming, but Li Lefan is new and even cleaned up Qian Yuanyuan's mess, so even 500 seems harsh.
