Plot Synopsis

It's based on a novel by Shu Ke, and the story is all about this god, Jinxiu (played by Liu Xueyi), who's trying to helpa camellia spirit, Hongning (played by Hu Yixuan), become an immortal. But, wouldn't you know it, they end upwith this epic, thousand-year connection, and in a twist, Hongning actually ends uphelping Jinxiu become human. Talk about role reversal!

Okay, so here's the juicypart: Every hundred years, the Heavenly Realm throws this big shindig called the Flower Festival. At one of theseparties, Hongning confesses her undying love to Jinxiu and basically asks him to make her his goddess-wife. But Jinxiu's all, "Hold up, babe, gods and demons can't mix!" Ouch.

But Hongning is determined. She's got thispromise from Jinxiu, so she starts her long journey to become an immortal. Fast forward, she finally makes it to the Heavenly Realm, only to find out Jinxiu's marrying someone else! Double ouch! So, she's like, "Screw this," and throws away her chance at immortality, choosing to be reboinstead.

Now, Jinxiu feels all kinds of guilty. So, he goes against the natural order of things to bring her back, hoping to make upfor being a jerk. We're talking lifetimes ofprotecting her, lifetimes of beingpartners. But, of course, there are secrets from thepast that they can't escape, and misunderstandingspopupleft and right. When they meet again during the falling flower season, Hongning becomes the destiny Jinxiu just can't shake.
